C.S.A.O. Awards The Johnson & Johnson Award of Excellence In Sterile Processing This award is to recognize front line staff working in Sterile Processing. You must be a Sterile Processing Technicians/Aides to apply. Past Winners: 2000 - FRANK GRAY, ETA CHAPTER 2001 - RACHEL WALSH, THETA CHAPTER 2002 - LOUIS KONSTANT, ETA CHAPTER 2003 - TRACEY SHOESMITH, DELTA CHAPTER 2004 - KRISTY TAYLOR, DELTA CHAPTER 2005 - SUSAN GUYEA, GAMMA CHAPTER 2006 - JANICE BELAIRE, GAMMA CHAPTER 2007 - LORRAINE D'ORAZIO, THETA CHAPTER Criteria: A current member of the C.S.A.O. Assessment: The categories used in assessing the nominations for the Johnson & Johnson Award of Excellence are as follows: Process Change - has the individual contributed to changes in process in the department or in other areas of the hospital. Teaching Mentoring - does the individual contribute to the teaching process in the department or hospital. Innovation - has the individual taken the initiative to implement change through a process that has not been attempted before or challenges the status quo. Quality Improvement - has the individual improved the quality of the services provided by SPD by his or her actions. The Award: One thousand ($1000) dollars to be used for continuing education, contributing to career development in Sterile Processing. This could include course/seminar registration, materials, expenses, etc. The C.S.A.O. will pay the registration fee for the conference and one night's accommodation on Monday night to attend the Award Dinner. GETINGE CANADA ISOBEL CAMPBELL AWARD The Getinge Canada Isobel Campbell Award is the most prestigious honour bestowed by the Central Service Association of Ontario. It is given to the person who is judged to have made a significant contribution to the Central Service Profession. The Award: The award consists of a gift and cheque for $1,000.00 from Getinge Canada for educational purposes. The C.S.A.O. will pay the registration fee and one night's accommodation at the hotel Monday night in order to attend the Award Dinner. STERIS EDUCATION AWARD Past Winners: 1996 - SUSAN McLELLAN, GAMMA CHAPTER 1997 - CECILIA SMITH - DELTA CHAPTER 1998 - NANCY MILLER, ZETA CHAPTER 1999 - HUGH GRANT, ETA CHAPTER 2000 - ANNE MARIE HOWLETT, GAMMA CHAPTER 2001 - HEATHER WALKER, THETA CHAPTER 2002 - CRISTAL BOLES, DELTA CHAPTER 2003 - JANICE BELAIR, GAMMA CHAPTER 2004 - SUZANNE PINEL-ASSELIN, THETA CHAPTER 2005 - IVY MARSHALL, GAMMA CHAPTER 2006 - AMY PITKIN, DELTA CHAPTER 2007 - BONNIE YUSUF, ETA CHAPTER Criteria: Selection is based on the following: The recipient must be a graduate of the C.S.A.O. Techniques Classroom Course held between June 1st to May 30 of the preceding months before the conference. The Award: The award is $1000.00, which allows the successful recipient to attend the annual C.S.A.O. seminar. The winner must attend the conference. C.S.A.O. will cover the registration fee to the conference (includes lunch Mon. & Tues. and a dinner ticket for Monday's award banquet) and one night's accommodation at the hotel Monday night. Heather Mode Memorial A-CART Award This award is given each year to the President of the Central Service Association of Ontario. Dick Flynn, President of A-cart Equipment, wanted to encourage C.S.A.O. members to get involved in executive positions and take on the role of President. He felt that this bursary of $1,000.00 would be an incentive to take on the President's duties knowing there would be this opportunity. This award of $1,000.00 can be used by the President at their discretion. The Past Presidents of the Association will be bestowed an Honorary Lifetime Membership by the Association at the completion of their term of office.
