I have attended meetings on behalf of the C. S. A. O voting on changes and the publication of new standards. The new Standards published over the last year include are those on Decontam, Flash Sterilization, Steam Sterilization, Ethylene Oxide. Presently the committee is working on 'Warehousing and Storage of Sterile Goods', Containers and others. All hospitals should have a set of Canadian Standards in their facility. If not attending the conference you can call 1-800-463-6727.

If you have old documents Z314.15 and Z314.10 you need to order new documents as many great changes have been made. The Z314.10.1 is required for anyone who wraps medical devices and Z314.15 for storage. The Z314.10.2 is required by any facility that is using reusable wrappers gowns, and linen.

Canadian Standards 2010 are ready for purchase. Go to www.csa.ca
