Jean Richmond – Past President Jean began her nursing career as an Operating Room Nurse 34 years ago in Hotel Dieu Hospital in Kingston, Ontario. She graduated from Edith Cavell Regional School of Nursing, then successfully completed the Postgraduate Course on Operating Techniques and Management. Jean worked as an OR Nurse for 12 years, then proceeded to become a Case Cart Coordinator with the direction to design and implement a Case Cart System for the Operating Room. Jean was appointed the role of Nurse Manager for Central Sterilization. With her leadership and the CS team, service was provided to the Operating Room as well as the Ambulatory Clinics in the hospital. With centralizing the reprocessing functions of the clinics in CS, the department became responsible for the reprocessing of rigid and flexible scopes in Endoscopy and Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic. Recently, Jean has been the Project Leader in implementing Custom Packs in the Operating Room. Jean has been part of the CSAO Executive for the last 8 years and has served in all the executive’s portfolio. Jean has been a CSAO Course Coordinator and taught the course during her years in office. Jean enjoys music, photography and hockey. |
